Description
The Takamine NEX Cutaway features a solid spruce top which yields crisp articulation and produces a broad dynamic range. Spruce is elastic in nature, which resonates well whilst remaining strong, and produces clear tonality that is so versatile, it can handle multiple different acoustic genres with equal ease. Its brightly toned spruce top is accompanied by the rare and extremely exquisite ziricote back and sides which produces superb clarity, a rich and resonant tonality, with a hint of bright sparkle. Ziricote’s tonal character falls between rosewood and ebony, offering swelling overtones and one of the most visually appealing woods on the planet, all retailing at an affordable price for such superior construction.
Mahogany Neck & Rosewood Fingerboard
Constructed from mahogany, the NEX’s neck offers resonance and great durability. Mahogany responds incredibly well to picking, strumming, and various finger techniques with equal ease. Its solid mahogany neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard that provides players with a beautifully melodic sparkly sound that really shines through when using fingerpicking techniques. Its rosewood fingerboard also offers a smooth and energetic playing experience and is sprinkled with glistening abalone dot inlays for added elegance.
NEX Body Shape
The Takamine GN90CE-ZC features Takamine’s original body shape, the NEX. This special instrument offers a smooth silky balance and is ideal for the singer/songwriter, as it supports vocal accompaniment beautifully. The NEX body offers a well-balanced tone as well as great projection and volume. Its slimmed down body is of similar dimensions to the original jumbo body shape, however it is a scaled down version that isn’t as hefty to sit with for smaller players yet still maintains a powerful play. The Takamine GN90CE-ZC features an unobtrusive design that will sit beautifully in the home and feel right in its element on the knee, within the studio or up on stage for live performance.
Takamine TP4TD Preamp
The Takamine GN90CE-ZC is ideal for the gigging guitarist due to it being equipped with Takamine’s own preamp, built-in, with the added convenience of an on-board tuner. This compact and sophisticated design offers slider switches for bass, middle and treble as well as a rotary control for gain. Simply plug into an amplifier or P.A System and tweak your own natural acoustic sound to your personal preference for rehearsal or live environments.
